The Author's Joy
Before me lies the 2.5-year anniversary of the day I kicked off my creative writing adventure — the birth of the valiant Thoruk and his treacherous way of life in Ukkiville. The timing couldn't be more perfect.
To mark this moment in time, I stand at the precipice of a milestone I wasn't sure I'd ever witness when Amazon first published The New World: A Step Backward in the summer of 2015, which now seems like a light-year to my rear.
It's difficult to comprehend that almost 10,000 readers in 14 different countries are enjoying the adventures of the courageous Thoruk and his brash daughter, Caru, near the turn of the next century.
Those two fascinating characters and their intriguing friends have been a huge part of my existence for these past 2.5 years. I've lived their fears, pains, sorrows, and joys every waking and sleeping hour over that amazing trek of my writing journey.
Realizing that 9,550 households have been introduced to Ukkiville and its alluring, but challenging way of life, my heart fills with gratitude for all of the wonderful readers. Before my first book signing, I never imagined the exhilaration one feels when observing the excitement in the eyes and across the face of people who've also fallen for the brave characters who battle the vicious creatures encountered at every turn.
You could say, many in this World, by way of all those supportive fans of 14 countries, now share a common understanding of the task that awaits us: Rush to the aid of GOOD and put an end to EVIL and those who partake in its proliferation!
Spread the word so others can ponder the wonders of The New World near the turn of the next century.
