WRITER'S BLOCK BE GONE !
If you've published at least a book or two, you've likely encountered the dreaded "writer's block" at some point. While many authors may have effective ways to get beyond the challenge, others struggle to crash the wall.
Whenever I've had prolonged breaks from writing, whether it be vacations, hobbies, or other distractions, one of the consequences has been difficulty restarting the flow of creativity. I've been fortunate to crash the barrier with a simple technique that may help others.
You certainly could google "writer's block" and find numerous ideas to overcome the malady but try my simple trick first. Grab one of your own books and read three or more exciting chapters. There's nothing like getting those creative juices swirling than to read portions of tales that ignite your adrenaline! It has worked each and every time for me.
If that doesn't work for you, try an idea I've kept in reserve if silently reading your own book doesn't do the job. Schedule a reading session with your favorite librarian to share your story with a reader's group. Not only do you get to hear your own story as you read it aloud, but you get to see the excited reactions on the face of the greatest people of the world — fans! Whenever I've read two to four chapters to an audience and responded to their questions, I can't wait to get back to my desk and start writing again. What a boost to the ego and the urge to create even more thrilling material for your readers!
For examples of "exciting" material that can help crash writer's block, take a peek into the "Look inside" feature of my sequel, The New World: Blue Moon Generation, on Amazon!
