While my writing career got off to a late start in my life's plan at age 59, it has zoomed faster than I ever imagined. Over the last few years, I've spent many waking hours writing, attending Read & Critiques, responding to Beta Readers, and reading reviews. Even though I've been extremely busy, it has been a profoundly rewarding experience and an opportunity to meet many new friends.
My wife and soul mate, Bonnie, and I love spending time with our family and friends; it's a treasured treat when we get to stay with our daughters, Shannon and Colleen. We're especially proud to welcome our granddaughters, Sydney and Locklyn, who blessed our existence, compliments of Colleen and Justin. We love spoiling them rotten!! |
I started writing my first novel, The New World: A Step Backward, in June of 2014 and published it in the summer of 2015. I attended four to five Read & Critique sessions monthly and was blessed with the help and support of 64 Beta Readers. I began writing the sequel, The New World: Blue Moon Generation, in December of 2015 and published it on October 1st of 2016. Shortly afterward, I outlined the tale for the 3rd book, The New World: Crimson Winter and published it in November of 2018.
Last but not least, I saved my best-ever writing for my most recent True Story, "Andy and the St. Joseph Home for Boys," which I published in May of 2020. While some authors suggested it would likely be the most difficult book to write, it ended up being the easiest. Though the vast majority of my orphanage experiences had been trapped within the depths of my mind for more than 50 years, once I started typing some of my experiences, numerous memories began to flood my mind. Before I knew it, I had written 48 highly emotional chapters and published the book within 9 months from when I started my unexpected journey.
I'd recommend swiftly browsing the quick summary of my life and jumping to the "Earliest Years of Andy Skrzynski's Life." There, you will find some of the funnier events that transpired during my existence here on Earth while still flirting with the "Old World."
